The Office of Multicultural Affairs

Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs is to provide supportive services to ethnic minority students and assist those students in their collegiate experiences at Armstrong Atlantic State University. The Office of Multicultural Affairs systematically serves students in the areas of academic outreach and student development.

Goals

  • To focus on recruitment, retention and graduation rates of all ethnic minority students.
  • To collaborate with other student services components on campus to provide support to under-represented populations on campus.
  • To provide personal/academic counseling with referrals for psychological counseling treatment.
  • To serve as a resource for all issues related to diversity.
  • To work in conjunction with student organizations to provide programming efforts specific to under-represented populations.
  • To work closely with Hispanic Outreach and Leadership at Armstrong Atlantic and the Office of International Education.
  • To provide training and educational resources to University departments and student organizations on diversity training and cultural awareness.
