Library Services.
The Lane Library specializes in services and resources which support the academic
programs of Armstrong Atlantic State University. The library centrally located
on campus, has two floors. Available on the first floor are reference, circulation,
and interlibrary loan services. Journals, newspapers, reserve materials,
micro-forms, photocopiers, the special collection , and a reading room are
also housed on this level. The Media Services, quiet study areas, and circulating
collection are located on the second floor.
Hours of Service Fall - Spring Summer
Monday - Thursday 8:00a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday 8:00a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 am - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 2:00 pm -10:00 p.m.
Hours vary between semesters and on holidays. Changes are posted at the
library entrance.
RESOURCES
The library's collection of bound book volumes exceeds 200,000-bound book
volumes. 1,100 journal subscriptions; 600,000 microforms; and 18,000 audiovisual
materials, including multimedia software, etc. In addition to Internet resources,
students have access to approximately 150 databases via GALILEO.
LIBRARY SCIENCE COURSES
Library research courses in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences
are available for non-library science majors.
CIRCULATION POLICIES
General books and Best Sellers may be borrowed for three weeks with one
renewal. Periodicals and reference books do not circulate. A valid Armstrong
ID card is required to complete all transactions. Audio-visual policies
vary by format.
ENCUMBRANCES
Patrons with overdue materials exceeding 30 days are encumbered by the Armstrong
business office. Encumbrances are cleared when materials are returned or
replacement fees paid. A $10.00 processing fee is added to replacement cost
of each lost item.
