While pursuing a college degree, students may be faced with a variety
of challenges, both personal and school related. Counseling gives students
an opportunity to talk about issues with a trained, experienced professionals
who can assist them with developing plans and discovering solutions. All

Academic counseling is useful when students are confronted with test anxiety,
time management, and difficulty with studying. Personal counseling is offered
when life's challenges interfere with a student's ability to learn. Mental
Health and substance abuse diagnosis and treatment services are available
on campus on an out patient basis. These services are provided by a licensed
psychotherapist free of charge for registered AASU students. Referrals to
other local treatment options including medication will also be provided.
Students can expect a private, confidential meeting free of charge. To schedule
an appointment, telephone 344-2582 or go to the Division of Student Affairs
on the second floor of Memorial College Center.
